Overall Thoughts:

Like many of the humans I know, I don’t like school. But I certainly enjoy TV shows about school. Especially when the producers do the work to get extra credit. Community is one of my favorite sit-coms of all time! This series has all of the traditional qualities of a great sit-com: Interesting characters who you either root for, or against, or both at the same time; dynamic connections between the main characters; a comfortable, yet flexible, setting that generates believable stories; and great writing. But Community surpasses other great sit-coms with some creative advances (see below).

What Makes This Show Special:

Community rises to a separate class of sit-com through the chances it takes with the structure of its stories each week, which add a much more interesting layer to the traditional fun. Various episodes pay tribute to great movies genres such as super-hero and rom-coms, by integrating their familiar complexion into the dynamic characters of Community.

Beware Of:

You may have to hit rewind to catch some of the subtle references which are scattered throughout many of the episodes, but know that you will likely miss some of the humor hidden between the lines. A good reason to watch all 6 seasons again!

For Dawg Eyes Only: The cast interaction on Community reminds me of being in a shelter in an enclosed space, where we're all barking at the same time and not listening to each other.
