I Care A Lot

Writer's picture: TV Watch DawgTV Watch Dawg

Bare Bones:

A senior citizen woman is taken into custody for her own protection by a court-appointed guardian.

Running Time – 1 hr. 58 min.

Overall Thoughts:

The sarcastic title tells us a lot about I Care A Lot. The premise is simple: a woman takes advantage of wealthy senior citizens to satisfy her own greed. But it’s the people who are trying to protect one particular victim who add the intrigue to this story. I Care A Lot certainly brings to light the serious issue of caring for elders, while adding in a villain to hate and some other flaky characters.

What Makes This Movie Special:

Peter Dinklage is so talented that he makes I Care A Lot worth watching, just to see him portray a rather unusual role in the way only he can.

Beware Of:

Although moderately entertaining, a little goofiness blurs the line between a black comedy and a light-hearted look at a serious subject. I'm still not sure how to categorize this one.

For Dawg Eyes Only:

My experience with human care-takers leads me to believe they care a lot more about us than each other.

This was a pretty good movie. I agree that it takes a lighter way to show how our elderly can be taken advantage of and are vulnerable.
