Overall Thoughts:

Finally, a show that portrays dawgs not only as heroes, but also as the only characters that don't fall apart when faced with difficult challenges. In The Dark is the story of a young blind woman who doesn't understand how to follow protocol and really doesn't care. When her friend disappears, she gives up on law enforcement's feeble efforts to find him and takes matters into her own hands. And into the paws of her guide dawg. It's an exciting premise that takes us in unexpected directions as the tone changes throughout the series.

What Makes This Show Special:

The highlight of In The Dark is the irresistible main character, Murphy Mason, a young woman who has been blind since she was a teen. Since then, she has grown a heavy cynicism (or exaggerated an existing cynicism) for her life and everything around her. She gets angry at people who treat her differently, but will certainly exploit her blindness if it gets her what she wants. Yet, why is she so dang lovable? Maybe because the only one she treats with respect is her guide dawg, Pretzel.
